Normal movement in the 2026 playtest is third person, with no verified free-switch first-person mode.
Reported
Confirmed Behavior
Some physical-object interactions may briefly change the camera, but that should not be described as a full first-person play option. 1 2
Why Some Clips Can Look First Person
Normal exploration and movement in the checked 2026 playtest footage use a third-person camera. Certain physical interactions can bring the camera close to an object or briefly change its framing, which may make an isolated clip resemble first person. That camera behavior is not evidence of a freely selectable first-person mode, and no verified toggle, menu option, aiming mode, or permanent first-person setting is documented. 3 4
Current Limits
Only announced or observed pre-release behavior is covered. Unpublished values, final Early Access scope, and later balance changes remain unconfirmed.
